With its bold color treatment and rich midrange voice, the Gold Label 514e Blacktop offers an enticing new entry point to Taylor's Gold Label experience. This Super Auditorium acoustic-electric features back and sides of solid mahogany paired with a torrefied Sitka spruce top, crafted on the foundation of the fanned V-Class bracing introduced with the first models in the collection.
Along with the slightly larger dimensions of the Super Auditorium body, those elements add up to a woody, dry tone with a rumbling low-end character and clear power and sustain in the midrange, with a strong fundamental focus and controlled overtones. Visually, this model strikes a bold contrast between its black top finish and cream-colored accents, including Crest fretboard inlays, rosette, binding, and pickguard.
Other details include a Curve Wing bridge in Honduran rosewood with matching bridge pins, nickel tuning machines, and a full-body gloss finish. It features LR Baggs Element VTC electronics for warm, authentic plugged-in tone and a deluxe hardshell case with a striking British Cocoa exterior.
