The 50th Anniversary 614ce's back and sides are crafted from figured big leaf maple, a tonewood prized for its clarity and note separation. Through Taylor's voicing process, the maple has been tuned to produce greater warmth, complexity and sustain. Complementing the maple back and sides, a Sitka spruce top provides the 614ce with a crisp, balanced acoustic character. Sitka spruce is a preferred top wood for its ability to translate string vibration into a broad dynamic range. With light fingerpicking, the top delivers a clear, airy tone. Strummed more assertively, it produces fuller lows and sparkling highs.
