Product Overview
The Songwriter EC Gets the Custom Treatment
Whether you’re writing a new song or taking it to the stage, the Songwriter EC Custom is an ideal musical partner. First introduced in 2003, the Songwriter combines Gibson’s time-honored bracing patterns of the 1930s with our original modern dreadnought shape, providing outstanding tonal quality. The solid rosewood back and sides, paired with the solid Sitka spruce top, delivers a full, rich, and balanced tone. The cutaway body ensures excellent access to the upper frets on the comfortable, ebony fretboard-equipped round profile mahogany neck. This version of the Songwriter gets the Custom treatment, with Les Paul™ Custom-inspired cosmetics, including an Ebony nitrocellulose lacquer finish, multi-ply binding on the top and back, a Les Paul-style peghead with a Custom split diamond inlay in mother of pearl, a bound ebony fretboard with mother of pearl Custom Block inlays, and gold Grover® Rotomatic® tuners. It comes equipped with L.R. Baggs™ Session VTC electronics and a hardshell case.
